God is a BusinessmanBy saying God is a Businessman, I do not mean for it to sound sacrilegious, and I do not want to over spiritualize about the statement either. However, we can learn a lot about having a successful home based business by observing how God reveals Himself to us. Before we look into how God conducts His business, let us first list what the top home based businesses do for their success.
It is no surprise that the businesses that do the things above have success because they closely mirror how God conducts His business. I am not suggesting that if you do these things, then you will have success because ultimately your success depends on God’s will for your life. But, one can benefit greatly by imitating what God has been successfully doing since he said, “Let us create man in our own image.” God’s Business PlanGod is in the business of saving souls. This is His niche in the market. I would not bother trying to jump into this niche market because God is the only one capable of providing the solution for this particular problem:) He formed His plan from the very beginning, knowing that
After God made His plan, He started creating. God’s Marketing System and how He Attracts People to HimselfWhen God created us, He gave us free will. So, we have a choice to “opt-in” to His opportunity, just like someone has the option to opt-in to your opportunity. However, God never forces Himself on anyone. Instead, He has developed multiple marketing systems that work together to attract people (customers) to Him and convert them into followers. Among which are:
God has given us everything including the whole of creation that we enjoy. All of which is to focus our attention on the glory and majesty of our God. This system, the Bible, He originally gave to the Jews to spread to the nations. This is viral marketing at its best because it encourages others to pass on the message of salvation. The Bible is the most printed and sold book of all time, so this marketing system is very powerful! Jesus' physically presence on the earth, His life, ministry, death, and resurrection all contribute to the testimony of God and has been a huge attraction to God for the past two thousand years. God has chosen to use His disciples, or followers, to bear witness to Him and what He can do for us. The Holy Spirit provides us testimony that Jesus came to earth and died for our sins through the life of believers. God offers an outstanding product that changes lives and people, through His marketing systems, can see that God’s offer is genuine and good. God is all about pleasing the customer, which is also a huge attraction. God follows-up with His customersOnce a person decides to accept God’s deal of salvation to take away our sins, then he follows-up by providing us with His Spirit, which dwells in the believer’s heart. The Spirit can, of course, be considered another marketing system because the Spirit also draws others to Him by way of His disciples. However, I consider this a follow-up system because the Spirit is a confirmation to the believer that God is real and that His promise of salvation is true. God says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” —Hebrews 13:5 This is one of God’s promises to His customers that He will always follow-up with them. Another follow-up technique that God uses is that He is always available. He always reads and answers our emails (our prayers), which again is another confirmation to His customers that He is good on His Word. God makes His customers feel confident and satisfied about their decision. God builds a relationship with His customersOur Heavenly Father desires that none of us “should perish but that all should come to repentance.”—2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV) He desires a relationship with all of us. He uses His powerful marketing system (His Word) to not only attract customers to Him, but also to keep them engaged. The only way we develop relationships with others is by spending time with, talking, and learning about each other. God makes His Will known through His Word, so spending time in the Bible and in prayer will help us develop a closer relationship with our God and Savior. In conclusion, one can be well on their way to having a successful home based business by doing the things listed below. These three things summarize everything we discussed above.
If all this sounds vague or confusing, then just keep moving forward. I just wanted to give a general overview of how God conducts His business before we start getting into the details of how to accomplish all of this in our business.
