The Benefits of Content Sharing Sites like Squidoo on Google

What is it?

Content sharing is simply a way for someone to get informative content articles to people over the internet about a topic they know a lot about, or enjoy, or want to recommend/warn people about, etc...

So, why write articles on these sites?

There are three very good reasons why to use information sharing sites, like Squidoo on Google.com:

1. They are FREE to use.

That means you get free exposure online from these sites. And if you actually write good content articles (called a lens) people will read it, maybe email it to a friend, or bookmark it. All of which gains more exposure for you without doing much more than writing about something you enjoy!

For example, say you own and operate an online Christian Bookstore, you could write book reviews about books you purchased from your store, and then at the end provide a link so that your readers can purchase that book from your store.

Or, you could write about the benefits of reading your Bible daily, and then provide the reader with an opportunity to purchase one from your store by providing a link.

Or, you could promote starting your own Christian bookstore, and get paid for the referral!

The possibilities are only limited to your imagination! And, don't forget to check out the inventory of your Christian bookstore because they might provide more than just Christian books in it.

2. The Search Engines, like Google or Yahoo, love to use articles from these content sites as search results.

This means that you have a greater chance showing up in the top 10 of Google's search results for keywords, such as,


- Christian bookstore,
- Christian books,
- An author or title of a particular book.


That is if you write content pages about these topics on this type of site! That's very powerful. Why buy the exposure when you can get FREE traffic from the Search Engines for your particular keyword by writing articles in the right places?

3. Content Sharing sites have monetization potential.

You can actually earn money from someone without them actually buying your products! These Content sites make it possible by adding things like Google Adsense, which are ads placed on your page that have relevant content to your article, and every time someone clicks on an ad, you get paid a few cents for it!

And they also provide opportunities for you to add modules to your article, like Amazon, YouTube, NetFlix, etc.. where if your readers buy anything from those sites you get money for the referral because they came from your site!

Adding modules also helps you gain higher ranking and exposure with the content sites and the Search Engines, so add lots of relevant modules to your articles. Use your imagination, just make sure that they pertain to your particular topic. (i.e. If your writing about a particular Christian book, then you don't want to add a travel module to it because there is no relationship between them).
