Home Business: Online Money Scams

I want to address this issue first because one of the biggest problems with online businesses is that your potential customers do not believe a word you say, and for good reason.

There are so many opportunities to make money from home, but there are also a lot of online money scams that come with the territory. Because wherever there is a buck to be made, there will always be people there to exploit you.

And to make matters worse…if you have done any research on home based business opportunities available on the internet, then you have discovered a huge list of opportunities that all promise the same things:

• multi-level commissions
• little work on your part
• easy set-up
• small start-up fee

If everyone is offering the same things, then how do I know which ones are the legitimate home based business opportunities? Here are just a few things to watch out for when choosing an opportunity:

Believability

If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

Easy Money

The infamous “Get rich quick”—DON’T LET GREED CLOUD YOUR JUDGEMENT! There is no such thing as big money with little to no effort.

Empires are not built by people who do nothing and neither are successful businesses. So, if you are looking for a get rich quick business, then you are setting yourself up for failure. This will only cost you precious time and money.

A home based business takes work! There is no room for couch potatoes in the business world; or in the Kingdom of God, for that matter.

Time limits

“This opportunity is only available for a limited time.” “Slots are filling up quick, don’t miss your chance to get in on the ground floor.” “You must act now.” Blah…Blah…Blah…

People who do this are just trying to take your money. They don’t want to give you any time for reason or to make a decision. Avoid opportunities that do this.

Hype

A lot of people try to prey on others emotions and troubles. “This opportunity is ground-breaking.” “This will be like the next Microsoft.” “You can start earning thousands of dollars a month instantly.”

Avoid anything that has outrageous or unbelievable claims.

And just one little side note about messages you get in your email:

Remember that Spam=Scam. No respectable business spams the masses to “get the sell.” Do not fall for any opportunity that shows up in your mailbox uninvited.

These are just a few things to watch out for in the online business realm, but it is not everything.

The best thing you can do to avoid getting scammed is to do your research on any opportunity that interests you. Do this before any money is exchanged. Be patient, ask God for guidance through prayer, and do not get caught up in hype.

Caution: Hype always looks attractive. So, look out for vague and trumped-up claims and avoid that opportunity like the plague.
